Literature Text

You look at me with starless eyes
And I look back and turn away.
The air behind where the sun will never rise
Embraces you, goddess of forgotten May.

You do not hear me calling,
Nor do I want to answer you
Lest I move myself to falling,
I will not return to you.

I tread the road to sunshine
Where my eyes and hopes are laid.
You cry for silence sublime,
A potion from the grave.

You dart past my thoughts, a phantom
Haunting, slicing my memory,
Your voice and tears are venom
Staining my mind's embroidery.

You cried out in an endless,
Resonating, grim trill,
Shaking your shackles
With your desperate, waning will.

Hands down in surrender
To the war inside, broken spirit,
You utter out your last whimper,
All fire, love and hope in it.

But you must find your silence,
It is time you lie down to sleep.
I'll remember you, my goddess
As I seal your coffin with its lid.
All I can say is that this one is really all about "rebirth", the kind where you sort of rise up from yesterday's ashes.
